From displays to road shows to car festivals, there are a lot of exciting automotive events coming up in 2020—and we’re revved up. These exhibits showcase any variety of engine-roaring and electric-purring roadsters. This week, our Caliber crew takes a road trip around the globe to introduce some of the top international car shows of the new decade.
Belgium: Brussels Motor Show
The 2020 Brussels Motor Show kicked off on January 10th and will run through Sunday, January 19th at Brussels Expo at the Heysel, the biggest showroom in the country. The exposhowcases every car make on the European market and features two central exhibits: #WeAreMobility by Febiac and Dream Cars. #WeAreMobility features the newest approaches and innovations in the world of mobility, as well as a test track for an interactive experience. Dream Cars is–as it sounds–an exhibit of the most exclusive models and impressive supercars. This year, car enthusiasts who can’t attend the event can still experience 360° tours on the expo’s website.
India: Auto Expo 2020
The “biggest auto extravaganza” of the year will take place February 7–12 at the India Expo Mart in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh India. The expo considers how AI, analytics and robotics are impacting the automotive industry and advancing mobility into the future. With key categories focusing on moving you “cleanly,” “safely,” “smartly,” “stylishly,” “together” and “to an unforgettable experience,” the exhibit will feature the latest car and bike launches, as well as the technology that makes them possible.
Switzerland: Geneva Road Show
The 90th edition of the Geneva International Motor Show (GIMS) takes place March 5–15 inside the Palexpo convention center. Focusing on tradition, passion and innovation, the show centers around solutions for today's mobility and ideas for the future. Each year, the world's most renowned manufacturers present their newest models and concepts. New to this year’s event, the exhibit will feature a 456M indoor circuit for attendees to watch and experience alternative propulsion cars—vehicles fueled by non-traditional energy sources such as electric, hybrid, hydrogen and natural gas.
United States: Lonestar Round Up
Since 2002, the Lonestar Round Up has brought auto aficionados from all across the country together to Austin, TX for this two-day car show and music festival. This year, the event will take place April 17–18 at the Travis County Expo Center and is expected to be the best one yet. Following a pre-show BBQ and packet pick-up on the 16th, the event will kick off at 7:30 a.m. Friday with a “garage crawl” and doors will open at the Expo Center for general admission at 10 a.m. Stay tuned for the music lineup to be released early this year.
While this list hardly scratches the surface of the thousands of auto shows and events that take place each year, it serves as a solid start to an autobody bucket list. As we head into a new decade, these exhibits serve as a sneak peek and first look into the latest trends, technologies, innovations and—of course—cars. While you’re taking in all the coolest sights, if your car has some of its own dents on display, remember that your team is here and ready to get you back on the road by Restoring the Rhythm of Your Life®.
