In many communities across the nation, individuals have chosen to put their neighbors’ health and safety above their own during these extraordinary times. Thanks to your nominations, Caliber was able to identify two frontline heroes in the Los Angeles area to recognize and aid in their mission to keep their communities safe.

Through its Restoring You program, dedicated to improving the lives of members in every community it serves, Caliber gifted two vehicles to two nurses, with the help from Caliber Collision locations in Alhambra and Duarte, through its partnership with Allstate Insurance and NABC’s Recycled Rides® program.

Arturo Carbajal, a registered nurse at Memorial Care Long Beach Medical Center, received a 2016 Toyota RAV4 at the Caliber Duarte location. He has worked tirelessly, often volunteering to take extra shifts to take care of the high influx of COVID-19 patients. As a Spanish speaker, Carbajal is often called on to help translate for patients and is the sole breadwinner for a family that includes his elderly parents and a sister who helps care for their parents.

Xe Duong, a nurse at the Veterans Administration Clinic in Lancaster, received a 2015 Mazda CX5 at the Caliber Alhambra location. His responsibilities include patient care and administering COVID-19 tests to veterans daily. Duong was in an accident early last year, which prevented him from working for a month. Before the gifting, Duong’s family borrowed an old car to get him to and from work, but the vehicle was not trustworthy.

Caliber is proud to give back to the many frontline workers who keep the local communities we serve safe and committed to our purpose of Restoring the Rhythm of Your Life®.

Since 2012, Caliber has teamed up with its insurance partners to obtain and restore hundreds of vehicles to pre-accident condition. The company has gifted more than 500 vehicles to veterans, active-duty service members, and others in need of reliable transportation.
