Each year, Caliber Collision donates more than 100 newly restored vehicles to deserving local veterans and citizens through the NABC’s Recycled Rides® program. Every gifting is memorable, impactful and integral in fulfilling our Purpose — Restoring the Rhythm of Your Life™.

This past week, Caliber partnered with Hot August Nights to coordinate two special giftings during their 10-day event in northern Nevada. The celebration, first taking place in 1986, is the largest classic car and nostalgic festival in the county, featuring live music, parades, award ceremonies, contests, screenings and more. In addition to the exciting schedule of events, Hot August Nights also raises money for local charities and organizations.

On August 3rd, Caliber Collision, the NABC and Allstate partnered together in Virginia City, NV to gift a 2013 Ford Edge to a deserving local veteran. Caliber teammates from the Reno location volunteered their time and skills to team up with more than a dozen local businesses to restore the donated vehicle.

At the Recycled Rides gifting, Wayne Gongaware was brought to tears as he was presented with his newly restored vehicle. Wayne has been commuting 5-6 days a week from his home in Silver Springs to be with his life partner of more than 35 years and U.S. Navy Veteran, Elmer “Les” White, while he is in hospice care in Reno.

Wayne and Les were nominated for the car donation by the Veterans Guest House in Reno—an organization that provides short-term accommodations for veterans, military members or immediate family who are undergoing medical treatment in the Reno-Sparks area.

“Our purpose is to restore the rhythm of lives,” said Tabatha Salas, Caliber Collision Field Account Executive. “That’s not only for our teammates and customers, but also the communities we serve.”

In addition to Wayne’s gifting, Caliber Collision also partnered with GEICO to restore and gift a 2015 Chrysler to breast cancer survivor Amy Roderick. The Caliber teammates from the Sacramento Non-Drive location joined forces with organizations such as Each One. Tell One., Protech Automotive Solutions, DentPro and other local businesses to make this gifting possible.

Every day Caliber Collision takes pride in Restoring the Rhythm of Your Life®—on and off the road. Through our Recycled Rides® giftings with the NABC, partnerships with the American Heart Association and 22Kill, Rhythm Restoration Food Drive and our daily commitment to our customers and communities, Caliber Collision is always here and Inspired to Serve.
